		<description>Thank you, Michael
for your interest in the ArtPolitik blog. But, as you can see or read, ArtPolitik is not just a regular blog that deals with regular popular, or pop culture issues in a given time frame. I created this blog as an experiment to explore addressing on-the-edge human events in a poetic format. I feel that I am a medium of sorts, and I allow these poems to be created from a stream of consciousness in how I am affected by certain things at certain times. The poems may not always follow the normal flow of current events, but these poems are always statements that reveal how a mind can be influenced by a world that is always constantly changing and evolving in how it perceives reality.
For instance, I have always admired the work of Bob Dylan, and would have liked to have had a poem on the blog by the time of his 68th birthday, which was May 24th. But as you see, I didn't post until June, because that is when the poem came to me. I have found as a poet, to be a good poet, you cannot force your work to come to you. It must reveal itself to you. I feel this is the purest state of poetry - when it is not forced. I also pioneer abstract and indirect methods of writing about issues, for instance, the poem "ear on" is about the current turmoil in the nation of Iran.
I grew up with the Jackson Five and Michael Jackson music. I have all of their early work on vinyl albums. Michael Jackson was one of the greatest talents of our time, but where he stands in my political consciousness is something that I reserve to scrutinize. He was about image and entertainment. He could escape to NeverLand during a major period in his life. For some of us, there is no escape, no matter how much money we are lucky to make. ArtPolitik is about education, revolution, a chance at social discourse, and enlightenment. The jury is still out on Michael Jackson, as far as I am concerned. But I wil keep my mind open, and if there is poem for Michael Jackson destined for ArtPolitik, by the grace of the Spirit, it will happen.

Thank you for your time and concerns,
                                               Peace, Blessings, and OneLove
