we, of a legacy of slavery
once outlawed from the liberty
of learning to read and write,
separated from our humanity
now find that our factions
were of the first
to take actions
in reading the stars
and developing hieroglyphs and fractions
we are reclaiming
our minds again
to fill our days
with documentation
and imagination
and limitless visions
