Babylon Fix

Lift thouselves up, oh, ye
I-dren, and be not consumed
by the fabrications of the wicked,
nor be ye fooled
by the false gods
of reality
- Jahhannibal

they beat you down
when they think you are poor
until you cannot
give any more

they stand on your hands
hollow out your core
steal into your Spirit
pimp your body as a whore

their gods ascribe your labor
their demons amass your dollars
your Soul becomes shipwrecked
lies beached on an empty shore

follow what men believe
and your sky will become lonely
the Earth, angry,
cries and bleeds
from scars and wounds received
through perpetual war
serving the reality
of a master-slave mentality
diminishes flesh
undermines stability
corrupts reason
poisons the perception of security
converts all joy
into curses and commodities
the starless and bible black
collapses the festering sore
karma redeems the crucified
reveals the greater wisdom of funk lore

the container is contained
within an infinite enclosure
which has no beginning nor end
the cell within the cell within
cannot comprehend
the divine, omni-magnificent warden

who hears the voices from the void -
songs of the angelic choir?
who ever chooses uprightness over downpressedness,
attending the work of the universal chore?

Native Engine

the cherokee
in me
speaks silence
dust
beneath
god-oppressor carpets
better than being
a black nigger/nigga
a black
better than being
almost alive
any heathen
is better than being
a buried people

i can absorb the sickness
of psychotic human beasts
west to east

i can carry the flesh
of my human family
i have the back
of my ancestors
the ancestors
have my back,
brothers and sisters

i can carry you
without the scars
of madness
of sadness
my engine
continues to run
i am out of the orbit
beyond the reservation/
death camp/prison
oven/representation-plantation
i can carry you,
brothers and sisters
in my godly psyche
i have assimilated your blood,
O, family
all the pain and strain
does not bother me
you are no scar
under Ra -
our God-Star
so beautiful
is the blackness
of the light

my engine
continues to run
ghost dance
fire horses charging
across the last Earth frontier
Black Elk
writing tear trails
arrows singing
bullet songs
Malcolm X Crazy Horse
exposing Freudian slips
sound sound on sound
the medicine drum
spirit-machine
i am i am engine

it is all here
the entire spectrum
inside this blackness
inside, there is bliss
it is done,
brothers and sisters
the burden
carried to the end
everything human
in the New World
within a New World citizen
i am i am
i am engine

2 Days with Daughter

her eyes
teach me
the duty
of the precursor
the piercing clarity
of truth
the responsibility
of knowing enough
to set the precedent
of balance

how wonderful
being kept in check
for uprightness
learning the joy
of dancing
to the harmony
of lineage
reflecting the image
of ancestors
as she shares
the lessons
that can only
be given back
by the young

from the Ankh
to the cross
at an ever
increasing cost
evolving and maturing beings
are forever discovering
anything destroyed
is never truly lost

celebrate every rising
to a new day
celebrate all life
that is brought forth
love is a survival-ship -
a star vessel
sacred and eternal
miraculous and special

ever praise
that which manifests
within emptiness
ever see
the holiness
in our connectedness

“Mortals have not yet come into ownership of their own nature.”
- Martin Heidegger
